New design with increased fin area.
Oil cooler mounts (C77-SUM, C77-WIN) are compatible with old oil coolers.
[Oil supplied to head]
As the oil temperature rises, the engine, frame, and everything gets hotter.
Even if a large aftermarket oil cooler is installed, it has no effect in traffic, and the temperature rises rapidly.
Naturally, the temperature of the oil supplied to the head also rises.
As the oil temperature rises, it becomes more fluid, often causing that clanking sound in traffic.
The sound of metal-on-metal contact is heard, because the oil film becomes thinner.
The BORE-ACE Oil Cooler is able to supply the head with a reliably lower oil temperature than where the oil temperature is measured.
(The sensor can be mounted on the oil cooler for measurement.)
The area that the oil cooler is mounted was unexpectedly hotter than we thought.
The heat was being transferred to the oil cooler.
By adding an insulating plate, we can block the heat from reaching the oil cooler.
And the biggest discovery is that BORE-ACE's oil coolers are so small that two of them can be installed.
Previously, we installed one at the outlet of the stock line and one at the base where it returns to the oil tank, but then I thought it might be better to install two in series to supply cooled oil to the head.
Since the oil quantity in the stock line is extremely low, if we install them in series, it would be at the base where it returns to the oil tank.
So, we installed it at the extraction point of the BORE-ACE twin oil line.
This turned out to be the right decision.
Hot oil flows through the inner oil cooler, while slightly cooled oil passes through the outer oil cooler.
Naturally, the temperature of the oil drops.
However, in winter, it can get too cold, so we've prepared an option for the insulating plate that allows heat transfer.
And, although the oil cooler should be removed, if you are too lazy to remove it, just change the hose arrangement and you are good to go.
This way, the oil temperature can increase with engine heat before supplying it to the head.
We attached sensors and thoroughly measured each part, riding tirelessly on roads that often get congested almost every day.
